QUELAFERT® HIERRO is a 6% EDDHA iron chelate (Fe-EDDHA) to prevent and correct iron chlorosis. Its chelating agent and ortho-ortho fraction keep the iron stable between pH 3 and 11.
The ortho-ortho fraction is the form of the EDDHA chelate that best protects iron in high-pH soils. The higher the ortho-ortho fraction, the longer the iron stays available to the roots.
EDDHA keeps iron stable over the widest pH range (3 to 11), so it is the chelate of choice in calcareous or alkaline soils, where other iron chelates lose effectiveness.
Then a multi-nutrient product such as QUELAFERT® MICROS S, with iron plus five other micronutrients, may be a better fit.
